1200 lits en CHSLD privés conventionnés sont à risque de fermer, alerte l’AEPC

La hausse des frais de fonctionnement fait mal aux propriétaires, soutient leur association.

The Association des établissements privés conventionnés (AEPC) has warned that 1,200 beds in subsidized private CHSLDs are at risk of closing due to inadequate funding and rising operational costs, such as food and equipment. Annick Lavoie, director of AEPC, emphasized the impact on residents' quality of life, citing the need for fresh produce. This could extend waiting lists for elderly care. The Quebec government is aware and has initiated discussions with AEPC, with 19 of 37 planned CHSLDs now funded.
