As of March 2025, Afghanistan exported over 1,100 tons of pine nuts worth $14 million to countries including Austria, Jordan, the UAE, the UK, the US, Italy, Australia, Germany, Pakistan, Turkey, and China. Afghanistan produces 35,000 tons of pine nuts annually, valued at over $800 million. Challenges include a lack of systematic programs, cold storage, and market access.
