An airport worker, Ali Celikten, was accidentally locked in a Turkish Airlines plane's cargo hold before takeoff in Istanbul, enduring -25C temperatures for about an hour. The plane, en route to Athens, was diverted to Izmir after his absence was discovered via CCTV. Celikten suffered severe hypothermia and frostbite, almost losing his legs, and is suing the airline. An AirFrance plane had to return home two hours into its flight after a passenger lost their phone.
