The new EU legislation regarding VAT payment has significantly impacted leasing products in Slovakia. Previously, financial leasing allowed clients to spread VAT payments over time, but the new rules require VAT to be paid upfront upon receiving the asset. This change reduces the advantage of financial leasing. However, ČSOB Leasing has introduced a new product, "Leasingový úver," which offers similar benefits to financial leasing, including partial VAT financing and immediate ownership of the asset. This new product aims to maintain client convenience and meet their financial needs despite the legislative changes.
