Cases of 28 homeless patients awaiting suitable accommodation from local authorities led to loss of 2,046 bed days, says HSE

Delays were caused by a lack of suitable accommodation and stretched resources in discharge facilities. The HSE is monitoring the issue and implementing targeted responses, including dedicated teams and protocols for planned discharges, while facilities like Dublin Simon Community's Usher's Island are working to reduce hospital demand.
