Armagh man who caused baby ‘catastrophic’ brain injuries jailed for 20 years

Lewis Oliver Rowland sustained life-changing brain injuries at 13 weeks after being shook violently by father



An Armagh man was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison for the murder of his baby son, Lewis Oliver Rowland, who died at age three from complications arising from brain injuries sustained in November 2015, when he was violently shaken by his father at 13 weeks old. The father and mother also admitted to wilfully neglecting their son. The mother received a combination order of probation and community service, while the father's 12-month sentence for neglect will run concurrently with his murder sentence.
