A UK woman, Yvonne, a victim of romance fraud by Richard Robinson (alias Gary Rogers), has fled the UK in fear for her safety after his release from prison, where he served time for fraud, theft, witness intimidation, and battery. Romance fraud cases in the UK are rising, with 8,548 cases reported last year, resulting in over £92m in losses. Victim Support notes that shame and stigma prevent many victims from reporting.
