Ralph Fiennes and Uberto Pasolini collaborated on "The Return," a radical adaptation of The Odyssey, after 30 years of planning. Pasolini initially approached Fiennes in 2011, but Fiennes declined directing, encouraging Pasolini to direct. Juliette Binoche joined the cast after Fiennes suggested her for the role of Penelope. The film explores Odysseus's return home later in life.
