At least 10 dead in Kentucky after severe flooding sweeps the South

Parts of Kentucky and Tennessee received up to 7 inches of rain during the weekend storms, and at least 10 people have died in the Southeast

Severe flooding in Kentucky and Tennessee, caused by up to 7 inches of rain, resulted in at least 16 deaths, primarily in Kentucky. The Kentucky River reached its highest level in decades. A 73-year-old man was found dead in Clay County, and over 100 rescues were conducted in Southwest Virginia. Authorities implemented a travel ban and curfew. A winter storm watch was issued, with snow expected, potentially worsening flooding. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear secured federal disaster relief approval.
