Au Mexique, le territoire occupé par les monarques cet hiver a presque doublé en un an

The area occupied by monarch butterflies in Mexico this winter nearly doubled compared to last year, reaching 1.79 hectares, a 99% increase. While encouraging, this number remains below the long-term average and significantly lower than the peak observed in 1996. The increase is attributed to better weather conditions during migration, but climate change, herbicide/insecticide use, and deforestation continue to pose threats. The western monarch population has drastically declined.
