Ben Horowitz, co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz, donated a fleet of 11 Tesla Cybertrucks to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, confirmed by the department to TechCrunch. This donation follows previous gifts from Horowitz to the police, often involving technology from Andreessen Horowitz portfolio companies. While past donations were made through a nonprofit, raising concerns about transparency, this latest gift was directly donated. Sheriff Kevin McMahill announced the donation during his annual address, with the Las Vegas Review-Journal first reporting on it. Horowitz did not respond to TechCrunch's request for comment.
