A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in prison for manslaughter after a fatal argument over a parking spot in Berlin's Wedding district. The dispute began when the defendant's brother clashed with a group of men, leading to the defendant fatally stabbing the victim, who had parked his new car to show it to friends. The judge identified the incident as a lethal mix of selfishness, recklessness, and lack of compromise. The judge also noted that Berlin's knife prohibition zones may not prevent such violence, as carrying a knife can encourage escalation. Additionally, a video showed no retaliation from the victim's group after his death.
