Builder at centre of Mica controversy ordered to give 1000s of documents and test results to homeowners

Counsel for the homeowners told the court that Cassidy Brothers Concrete had agreed to make voluntary discovery in May 2024 and had later applied to the court for extensions.

A High Court judge ordered Cassidy Brothers Concrete, at the center of the Mica controversy in Donegal, to provide homeowners with thousands of documents and test results related to their legal action. The court noted the documentation had already been shared with other defendants (Donegal County Council and the National Standards Authority of Ireland) but not the homeowners, despite an agreement to do so since May 2024. The order addresses concerns about mica-affected homes and the use of weaker concrete.
