Šodien Gruzijā notiekošajā Eiropas Jaunatnes olimpiskajā festivālā līdzīgi nostartēja abas Latvijas pārstāves distanču slēpošanā krāslaviete Valērija Burceva un rīdziniece Amanda Reilija Zariņa, abām 5km klasikā ar intervāla startu iekļūstot piecdesmitniekā 60 dalībnieču vidū.
At the European Youth Olympic Festival in Georgia, Latvian athletes Valeriya Burceva and Amanda Reilija Zariņa competed in a 5km cross-country skiing race with interval starts. Both skiers finished in the top 50 out of 60 participants. Zariņa initially led but was overtaken by Burceva near the finish, with Burceva securing 14 seconds ahead of Zariņa. Malva Nisena of Sweden won the gold medal with a significant lead.
