Hudson’s Bay Co. ULC can begin liquidating all but six of its stores on Monday, an Ontario court decided on Friday, ending an era of department store dominance for Canada’s oldest company.
Hudson's Bay Co. will begin liquidating most of its stores on Monday after an Ontario court approved its wind-down proposal. Only six stores in Ontario and Quebec, including the flagship Toronto location, will be spared. The move comes after failed attempts to secure restructuring solutions with creditors and landlords, despite efforts to find lenders and landlords for rent relief.
