Cancer, Parkinson's and heart disease warning to anyone with gas hob

You should also take care if you or your child has a respiratory problem

A study by Which? found that using gas hobs can produce indoor air pollution exceeding levels on busy roads, due to NO2 and PM2.5 emissions. These pollutants are linked to respiratory illnesses, lung cancer, heart disease, and Parkinson’s disease. While induction hobs produced background pollution levels, gas hobs caused significant pollution spikes, with some exceeding WHO guidelines. Despite the health risks, awareness among gas hob users about the potential impact of air pollution is low. The study suggests switching to induction hobs.
