An investigation into an alleged cartel training ground and killing field in western Mexico has led authorities to uncover how one of the world's most violent cartels used TikTok to recruit its gunmen. Mexican authorities arrested Jose Gregorio "Comandante Lastra" Lastra Hermida, a leader of the Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG), for using TikTok to recruit gunmen with false job offers. Recruits were taken to Rancho Izaguirre for training and then deployed across Mexico. The investigation into Rancho Izaguirre revealed it was used as a cartel killing field and mass grave. Lastra and 48 others tied to CJNG recruiting and training operations were arrested.
