Changes to watering rules considered, but Calgary no longer proposing seasonal mandatory water restrictions
Calgary is no longer proposing seasonal mandatory water restrictions. The city is considering changes to its outdoor watering rules to make them more equitable, allowing residents and businesses to water new trees, shrubs, edible food crops, wash exterior windows and cars, and permit water use for construction and street cleaning during Stages 1 and 2 restrictions. This reverses a previous plan to mandate citywide watering schedules in response to water shortage and drought concerns.
