Federal prosecutors revealed charges Tuesday against seven Chilean migrants accused of running a sophisticated burglary ring that targets pro athletes across the country.
Chilean migrants have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes, including NFL and NBA players. The victims include Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow, and others. Federal authorities revealed that since around October 2024, the suspects have been breaking into the homes of athletes while they were away competing. The burglaries included those of Mahomes and Kelce in October and Burrow in December. Seven individuals from Chile were charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. A federal complaint unsealed on Tuesday detailed the nationwide spree, which also involved burglaries of a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player, a Memphis Grizzlies player, and others.
