Conor McGregor appeal against civil jury’s rape finding due before Court of Appeal this month

Mixed Martial Arts fighter expected to claim jury finding is unsafe because of alleged legal and factual errors

Conor McGregor is appealing a civil jury's finding that he raped a woman in a Dublin hotel. The appeal, scheduled for March 21st, claims the trial judge made legal and factual errors, including in directions to the jury regarding evidence and the definition of assault. McGregor seeks to overturn the finding and potentially have a retrial ordered. The civil jury previously awarded €248,603 damages to the woman, who alleged non-consensual sexual activity, while McGregor claimed the sex was consensual.
