‘Corridor care’ has become an endemic problem in Wales, survey finds

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine has called on the Welsh government to prevent corridor care, calling it ‘dangerous, degrading, dehumanising’.

A survey by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine found that "corridor care" is an endemic problem in all 12 Welsh emergency departments, with patients being treated in corridors and ambulances. The College calls it "dangerous, degrading, dehumanising" and urges the Welsh government to address it. The Welsh government acknowledges pressures but does not endorse routine care in non-clinical environments and cites funding to support healthcare services.
