A traditional herbal healer, Segun Shina, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for attempting to sexually assault a 10-year-old girl. Shina initially pleaded not guilty, but later entered a plea bargain, resulting in an amended charge. The court heard testimony from the girl’s mother and an investigative police officer. Shina’s sentence began on November 16, 2018, the date of his arrest. The court also ordered his family to ensure his rehabilitation upon release.
