Cringey email signatures burn IT energy and kill the planet, says top boffin

The boffin said in his country around '15% of people include gender pronouns in emails', the carbon emissions of which 'may contribute to the premature deaths of one person a year'

He estimates that pronoun usage in emails in his country contributes to carbon emissions that may lead to one premature death annually. He suggests using hyperlinks instead of long signatures to reduce energy consumption. This warning follows research indicating unnecessary emails contribute significantly to carbon emissions.
