A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Coalition for Transparency, Equity, and Justice, has demanded clarification from the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy over allegations of ₦4 billion spent on office rent and questionable appointments under Minister Hannatu Musawa. The CSO raised concerns about the continued rent payments for an office along ICPC Road in Abuja and the recruitment of 50 new aides, questioning the transparency of the appointments amid reports of mass dismissals of experienced officials. The ministry denied the allegations, stating it operates from the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and that all appointments were based on merit and civil service guidelines. The allegations have sparked public debate, highlighting the need for financial transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s public sector.
