Romania's highway network is set to expand significantly by 2030, aiming to add 1,752.82 km to the existing 1,300 km of expressways, totaling over 2,824 km. Key projects include the Autostrada Transilvania (138.5 km), the Bucharest Beltway (A0, 58.5 km), and the Ploiești-Siret highway (437 km). Additionally, 243 km of expressways, such as Arad-Oradea and Craiova-Pitești, are planned. These developments aim to drastically reduce travel times, with routes like Constanța-Timișoara expected to drop from 13 to under 7 hours. The Romanian National Roads Administration (CNAIR) has confirmed these ambitious plans, signaling a major upgrade in the country's infrastructure.
