Cyprus recorded the lowest remote work rate in Europe in 2024 at 22%, according to Eurofound, compared to the Netherlands, which led at 83%. In Cyprus, 78% of women and 75% of men continued to work from the office, with 22% of women and 25% of men working remotely. Across Europe, remote working opportunities decreased, with LinkedIn data showing a decline in remote job postings despite growing demand. Women's remote work rate dropped from 14% in 2022 to 10% in 2024, while men's dropped from 10% to 7%. A hybrid work model was slightly more favored by men, with 27% of men and 22% of women preferring it in 2024. Telecommuting jobs in Europe fell to 14% in 2023 from 24% in 2022, yet interest in flexible work remained strong, with 24% of employees preferring full remote work in 2024, up from 13% in 2020.
