Cyprus maritime scholarships to empower women, promote equality
Deputy Minister for Shipping, Marina Hadjimanolis, announced the integration of gender equality initiatives into the Ministry's operations, aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal on gender equality. The initiative includes campaigns to encourage women to pursue careers in the maritime industry. Two scholarships, each worth €20,000, are being offered for the 2025-2026 academic year: one for an MSc in Maritime Affairs at the World Maritime University in Sweden and another for an LL.M in International Maritime Law at IMLI in Malta. These scholarships are exclusively available to Cypriot women and are part of the National Strategy for Gender Equality 2024-2026. Applications can be submitted through the Ministry's website.
