DA: ‘Major player’ in Mass. and Cass drug market gets prison time

Keon Leary, 45, was sentenced to 9 to 10 years in prison for his role as a major player in the drug market near Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard in Boston. He was arrested in December 2022 during a "buy and bust" operation after police targeted him following community reports of drug activity near Hope House. During the arrest, officers seized 248.18 grams of cocaine, 22.22 grams of fentanyl, 15.57 grams of fluorofentanyl, and 0.43 grams of valerylfentanyl. Assistant District Attorney Hayden thanked the community for their assistance in the arrest. Leary will receive 473 days of jail credit and will be on probation for three years post-release.
