Dans les Andes péruviennes, tout un monde risque de s’évanouir avec les glaciers tropicaux

Le pays andin est particulièrement vulnérable au changement climatique dans les milieux montagneux. Parmi eux, le Quelccaya, dans le sud du Pérou, un des plus grands glaciers tropicaux au monde, disparaît lentement, sous l’œil des scientifiques et l’impuissance des populations quechuas.



In the Peruvian Andes, the Quelccaya glacier, one of the largest tropical glaciers in the world, is slowly disappearing, threatening the Quechua communities that depend on its water sources which feed rivers like the Vilcanota, impacting energy production for the region and potentially vanishing completely by the end of the century.
