The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has canceled $4 million in contracts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, citing wasteful spending identified by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force. These contracts were intended for DEI culture transformation, including training and research. HUD Secretary Scott Turner criticized the spending, labeling it as propaganda and a misuse of taxpayer funds. He emphasized that the resources could have been better utilized to support communities. Turner declared that DEI is no longer a priority at HUD. Additionally, HUD reported recovering $1.9 billion in misplaced funds from the Biden administration.
