Der 14,3 Meter lange Pottwal-Kadaver ist zerlegt und in speziellen Containern nach Jagel nahe Flensburg gebracht worden. Dort soll untersucht werden, woher das Tier stammt – und wie es gestorben ist.
A 14.3-meter-long Pottwal (whale) carcass weighing 10-15 tons was found on Sylt's beach. It was transported to the mainland, where it was dissected by Timo Arp. Parts were moved to containers near Flensburg, and samples were sent to Büsum for analysis. The lower jaw will remain on Sylt for display. Concerns about explosion due to decomposition led to swift removal. The cause of death and origin remain under investigation.
