Balochistan Liberation Army separatists in Pakistan took over 450 passengers hostage on a train after detonating a bomb that damaged the tracks. Pakistani troops launched a large-scale operation to free the hostages, with over 100 reported released. Passengers recounted being released and walking for hours to reach safety. The BLA, which has a history of targeting security forces and non-Baloch Pakistanis, reportedly singled out passengers from the Punjab region.
