Director Todd Haynes has criticized President Donald Trump, calling his administration a "barbaric assault" on American democratic institutions and a "hateful campaign" against trans people. Speaking to AFP at the Berlinale film festival, Haynes urged resistance against Trump's policies, warning of the risks of corporate alignment with the administration. He highlighted theexample of Disney dropping DEI as a performance factor, while still retaining inclusion as a core value.
