Djokovic zum Fall Sinner: „Eine Mehrheit der Spieler denkt, dass es nicht fair ist“

Novak Djokovic has sharply criticized the deal between tennis star Jannik Sinner and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which resulted in a three-month doping suspension for Sinner after testing positive in March 2024. Djokovic argued that the case has led to a loss of trust in the anti-doping system among professional tennis players, with many feeling the process is unfair and lacks transparency. He also referenced the case of Iga Swiatek, another top player who faced criticism over the handling of her doping case. Djokovic emphasized that he does not question the innocence of Sinner and Swiatek but pointed out concerns about the system's fairness. Alexander Zverev, who could benefit from Sinner's suspension, called the situation "strange" and expressed hope for reforms in the anti-doping process. The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) has also criticized the handling of the case and called for systemic changes.
