Residents of Beloševac, Donje Grabovice, and Novo Naselje near Valjevo have organized a second warning blockade at the entrance to the city's landfill, demanding its permanent closure and cleanup. This is the second blockade in 15 days, with residents warning it will be the last before they permanently close the landfill. They claim the landfill, which lacks proper sanitation, has directly endangered their health and their children's health for decades. Over 4,000 signatures have been collected in a petition demanding the landfill's closure, but no response has been received. Complaints have also been filed with relevant inspection agencies. Residents, including Jovan Lukić and Živorad Petrović, emphasize this is their final warning and threaten to close the landfill themselves if authorities fail to act. They cite ongoing health risks and the lack of progress on a promised new regional landfill in Kalenić, which was initially set to open by the end of 2025 but has been delayed until 2026.
