DWP stands firm on decision not to pay women State Pension age compensation

More than 160,000 people have signed an online petition that has now been debated by MPs.

The DWP maintains its decision not to compensate women affected by State Pension age changes, despite a Parliamentary Ombudsman report recommending compensation of up to £2,950 each. Labour MPs are urging the government to reconsider, supporting a petition with over 160,000 signatures, but Pensions Minister Torsten Bell defends the decision.
