Following Newcastle's 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool, ending a 70-year trophy drought, an emotional Eddie Howe hailed his players as future "legends." Dan Burn and Alexander Isak scored for Newcastle, while Federico Chiesa scored for Liverpool. Howe is the first English manager to win a major trophy with an English club since 2008.
