Energy cost reduction: Global Environment Facility, UNIDO, others to build capacity for industrial energy efficiency

The Global Environment Facility (GEF), UNIDO, and other partners are collaborating to build industrial capacity for energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental sustainability in Nigeria. They have conducted training workshops, such as a high-impact industrial energy efficiency and resource-efficient cleaner production (RECP) training in Lagos, focusing on topics including ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 standards, energy audits, and cleaner production strategies. The initiative aims to equip Nigerian industries with tools and knowledge to reduce energy costs, improve operational efficiency, and adopt sustainable practices, supporting the country's industrial growth.
