Energy minister clarifies confusion over apparent Metro Vancouver EV subsidies

B.C.'s energy minister has stepped in to try and clear up confusion about an electric vehicle subsidy that sparked concerns at a recent Metro Vancouver board meeting.

Energy Minister Adrian Dix clarified confusion over an apparent Metro Vancouver EV subsidy program. Metro Vancouver board members raised concerns at a meeting about regional tax dollars being used to help The Brick and IKEA purchase electric vehicles. Dix explained that the reference to IKEA was a mistake in the briefing note and actually pertained to Bolt, a delivery service for IKEA. The funding, administered by the Fraser Basin Council, was part of Metro Vancouver's $300,000 allocation to the provincial EV program.
