EU envoys approve more sanctions against Russia to mark the third anniversary of its war on Ukraine

EU envoys have approved new sanctions against Russia, set to take effect next week on the third anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. This 16th package includes travel bans, asset freezes, and trade restrictions targeting Russia's 'shadow fleet' used to bypass oil and gas transport restrictions. The sanctions also target around 50 Russian officials, including Putin, and restrict 13 banks, 3 financial institutions, and 11 ports and airports aiding Russia in evading existing measures.
