Everett City Council is investigating all payments made to Mayor Carlo DeMaria since 2016 after he was found to be overpaid $180,000 in longevity bonuses. The council voted to abolish the longevity bonus ordinance, hire an independent auditor, and demand the mayor stop using city funds for his legal defense against the overpayment findings.
