Families say Nottingham attack victims ‘failed by authorities’ after report

The IOPC report found Leicestershire Police missed an opportunity to detain Valdo Calocane a month before the Nottingham attacks. They failed to arrest him, interview witnesses, check the police national computer, or download CCTV footage from an incident. The IOPC labeled the investigation as a missed opportunity and exceptionally poor but didn't recommend misconduct charges. The victims' families criticized the investigation's quality, feeling let down. The Prime Minister announced a public inquiry would take place soon.
