On March 22, 2025, FAO reaffirmed its commitment to zero-hunger in Nigeria by distributing 21 metric tonnes of Tom Brown to 1,750 malnourished children (6-59 months) in Sokoto, Nigeria. The project, funded by the Government of France, aims to improve food security and nutrition among vulnerable populations through food assistance, sustainable agriculture practices, and school gardens. FAO plans to expand the program to seven states in North-West Nigeria.
