The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has filed charges against MultiChoice Nigeria Limited and its CEO, John Ugbe, for defying regulatory directives by increasing subscription prices for DStv and GOtv services on March 1, 2025. The FCCPC accuses MultiChoice of obstructing its inquiry, failing to comply with directives, and attempting to mislead the regulator. The charges, filed at the Federal High Court in Lagos, stem from MultiChoice's decision to implement the price hike despite a directive to suspend it pending an investigation.
