FG eyes $6.8m revenue, 5,000 jobs from C’River cocoa factory

The Federal Government aims to generate $6.8 million in annual revenue and create 5,000 jobs by reviving the moribund Cross River Cocoa Processing Factory in Ikom. Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, John Uwan-Enoh, highlighted the potential economic benefits during a recent visit to the facility. He emphasized the importance of processing cocoa locally to stabilize prices, as processed products like cocoa butter and liquor maintain stable pricing compared to raw cocoa beans. The factory, initiated in 2017, has yet to become operational.
