The annual Kennel Club Hero Dog Award, supported by The Kennel Club Charitable Trust, celebrates the unique relationships people have with their dogs and the important role man’s best friend plays throughout our lives and in society
Five dogs have been named finalists for the Kennel Club Hero Dog Award 2025, each recognized for their extraordinary contributions. Tilly, a Rescue Dog Hero, was rescued as a puppy and now serves as a therapy dog. Sharwood, a Hero Support Dog, is a record-breaking blood donor who has saved numerous dogs. Louis, the Best Friends finalist, accompanied his owner on a coast-to-coast walk to raise funds for charity. Rosa, the Child’s Champion, assists a girl with complex needs, providing support and independence. Baloo, the Extraordinary Life of a Working Dog, retired as a police dog and now supports officers as a trauma support dog. The public can vote for their favorite, with the winner receiving a £5,000 donation for their chosen charity.
