A fire at a nearby electrical substation caused Heathrow Airport to close, diverting at least 120 inbound flights to other airports, including Gatwick, Frankfurt, Shannon, and Amsterdam. Gatwick Airport is operating normally and supporting where required. Birmingham Airport is also operating normally. Over 600 flights were scheduled to land at Heathrow on Friday, with British Airways having the most flights (341).
