Galway University Hospital had the second-highest number of patients on trolleys in Ireland for February, with 1,019 patients without a bed. The INMO reported this as the worst February on record for hospital overcrowding and the worst start to a year since 2006, with over 25,000 patients on trolleys so far in 2025.
