George Foreman, The Rumble in the Jungle and the stray elbow that nearly KO’d boxing’s most famous fight

It was not the only time an accidental elbow threatened or ruined a major fight

In 1974, George Foreman suffered an accidental elbow cut during training, threatening to postpone his "Rumble in the Jungle" fight with Muhammad Ali. Ali exploited Foreman's resulting anxiety. Other fights, like David Haye vs. Tyson Fury and Michael Watson vs. Mike McCallum, were also canceled due to accidental injuries during training. Fury almost suffered a similar injury prior to his fight with Usyk. Foreman, boxing legend, died at age 76.
