The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) added "gigil," a Tagalog word for the urge to pinch or squeeze something adorable (cute aggression). Other new entries include "alamak" (outrage), "tapau" (takeaway), "videoke," "salakot," and food-related terms from Singapore, Malaysia, and other regions. The OED incorporates words from various languages to fill lexical gaps in English.
